Pretty Pastel Wedding {Real Wedding – The Wedding of my Dreams}
Here at The Wedding of my Dreams we love it when our couples send us photos after their big day. Ashely got in touch not long after her wedding to show us her photos, as soon as we saw them we knew we had to share them with you.
Ashley and Paul were married on 13.04.14 at the rather grand medieval Church that sits over the small village of St Neot, Cornwall, and celebrated afterwards in the Spring sunshine and glorious rustic surroundings of Trevenna.
The Bride wore Jenny Packham, accessorised with a cathedral length, lace trimmed veil, accessories from Jenny Packham and BHLDN and Rachel Simpson shoes. The groom an airforce blue suit from Reiss. The bride didn’t want a traditional ‘theme’, but the whole day ended up being described by her as ‘ethereal woodland with a big dash of pastel pretty’!
The couple surprised guests with a local choir to sing at the wedding, and the Bride walked down the aisle to a heartwarming rendition of All You Need Is Love. The sun shone upon the stunning Cornish scenery at Trevenna, where guests drank local Blush Cider out of pretty paper straws.
Details at the wedding included vintage glass bottles on tables, hurricane vases filled with moss and pillar candles, which sat on wood tree slices. Bark wrapped candles littered the tables, as did a mass of beautifully scented local stocks and roses. Handmade details included hundreds of Cornish daffodils littered outside, and paper pom-poms and garlands handcrafted by the bride (learn how to make them here). The brides incredible bouquet included peonies, roses, freesias and hydrangeas.
The menu was all locally sourced, including sea bass and Cornish lamb rump. The stationery was from Swoon At The Moon including menus, place cards, table numbers and lovely flags for the straws. Favours were homemade shortbread hearts, organic wildflower seeds, and a mini bottle of Jaegermeister for the boys!
Bits purchased from The Wedding of my Dreams included a gold table runner on the cake table, pink mercury votives, white heart card holders and hessian table runners.
The brides favourite moment? “Aside from the ceremony, of course” she laughs, “it was seeing the cake table! It had been a pintrest-fuelled dream and a real labour of love, but I swooned when I saw it all finished in front of me. It just oozed rustic, luxe-prettiness and summed up the whole day for me.”
