Natural Wooden Bark And Tree Slice Wedding Decoration Ideas ~ Rustic Woodland

Are you hoping to create a woodland or rustic feel at your wedding? Maybe you have chosen a venue that suits the woodland style (a barn or farm wedding venue) or perhaps as a couple, you love the outdoors, and a woodland wedding just feels right.

One way to create a woodland style is to use lots of natural materials, we have chosen our favourite natural wood, bark and tree slice wedding decorations as well as ideas that you could use to create this look yourselves.

Natural wood & bark table number holders & place settings

For your wedding table numbers you could choose to have a table number holder made from an actual tree branch, use narrow branches so they don’t take up too much space on the table and slot your table number card into them. Or alternatively use a small tree slice and engrave the table number or name into it. This looks best propped up against your centrepiece so it is visible for guests.

Natural bark vases, tea light holders and tree slice wedding centrepieces

You want to create a relaxed centrepiece for a woodland styled wedding, nothing too perfect and uniformed, not all tables have to be the same. There are a number of different wooden bark vases and vessels that could be used to hold your flowers. Wild flowers look best with lots of texture. Around the bark vases add in a couple of bark tea light holders to complete the look.

The majority of venues provide a white linen table cloth for your tables, this is not very rustic! You will be surprised, adding a hessian table runner over the cloth works wonders. Or for an even more rustic touch use a wooden tree slice as the base of your centrepiece, positioning your bottles, jars and vessels on top. tree slice stree wedding centrepiece decoration ideas rustic woodland

Extra wedding decorations and ideas using tree stumps

Wooden tree slices or tree stumps could be used as a base for more than just your centrepieces. Large tree slices can be used for your wedding cake or lots of smaller ones for cup cakes or a dessert table.

For an outdoor woodland wedding ceremony, position larger tree stumps down either side of the aisle and place jam jars with flowers and candles on top. A simple but effective look. We also really love the idea of gathering lots of large tree stumps and piling them up to create shelves. Add candles in jam jars and vases to create a wow factor display. rustic woodland tree slice wedding cake stree stump wedding ceremony decoration ideas

Lemon Yellow Wedding Ideas

If you’re feeling brave enough to don a sunshine yellow wedding gown, we salute you! However, we feel the majority of brides are more likely to include understated lemon details in their bridal outfit. Yellow heels will add a pop of colour to your aisle style as will a chic yellow cardigan for the evening reception. If you’re struggling with choosing yellow accessories, don’t fret! Golden hair vines and gilded jewellery are a stunning choice.

Yellow is often seen as a difficult colour when it comes to the groom’s wedding suit, but we’ve got a couple of different options that you might like. Team a navy suit with mustard yellow accessories – the two colours work beautifully together without being too much. Alternatively, pair pale lemon accessories with a grey suit – yellow and grey are a very chic duo.

Zesty lemon is a wonderful colour for choosing your wedding bouquet. Custard yellow tulips, cream garden roses and pretty daises are just gorgeous together. Add in lots of greenery for a wild wedding bouquet that looks like it could have been hand-picked from the garden. Your bridesmaids will look delightful carrying smaller bouquets of daisies and even gypsophila. Have you ever considered wearing a flower crown on your big day? This a gorgeous option for a bride who wants to channel her inner boho on her big day!

You can get seriously imaginative with your wedding food and drinks with this cheerful theme. Small bottles of limoncello make wonderful wedding favours and they’ll certainly start the party. Offer a large drinks dispenser full of lemonade to your guests – you could create a drinks stationery with fresh lemons and mint. A delicious wedding cake consisting of lemon sponge and zesty drizzle is obviously a must-have with this wedding theme!

One of the easiest ways to reflect this bright theme through your wedding décor is to use actual lemons as the main focus. Rustic wooden crates brimming with fresh lemons will set the scene effortlessly. When it comes to place settings, why not tie luggage tags with twine around a lemon and place on each plate. Not only will it show your guests where to sit, it’ll add a burst of colour to your reception tables.

A delightful yellow wedding colour scheme is perfect if you want guaranteed sunshine on your special day. It would also look wonderful for a destination wedding!

An Olive Green and Grey Wedding Colour Scheme

Today is all about an olive green and chic grey wedding colour scheme. This heavenly duo is perfect for that in-between season time, when it’s no longer Winter but not yet Spring. Teamed with lots of country-style wooden details this is the perfect ‘botanical meets rustic’ wedding theme.

An Olive Green and Grey Wedding Colour Scheme

Kick-start your wedding planning off by deciding on your wedding stationery designs. We suggest keeping the same (or a similar) design throughout your day – from the save the dates to the table plan! This almost creates a ‘brand’ for your wedding day, and it’ll reflect your wedding style as a couple. White and grey stationery with olive green envelopes will start your wedding off wonderfully.

I am a huge fan of watercolour grey wedding gowns and they’re perfect for a modern, fashion-forward bride. They’re delicate and beautiful, yet despite the colour they’re still incredibly bridal. Team with silver wedding accessories and jewellery for a truly striking look. A slate grey suit is an obvious option for this modern colour scheme, but navy shouldn’t be overlooked. Both grey and navy look handsome paired with olive green, so the choice is completely down to the groom’s individual style.

Grey bridesmaid dresses are always going to look elegant on your ladies. Olive green gowns will look gorgeous on the right girl, but they may not suit everyone in your group! It’s best to try both colours on but make sure your bridesmaids feel 100% comfortable – if they don’t feel confident, it will show in the wedding photographs.

I think this theme is particularly perfect for an outdoor wedding venue, and it’s best to incorporate a lot of nature elements into your decorations and the smaller details. Add sprigs of olive leaves to your place settings or even tie them around dark grey napkins. Wooden chairs and tables will add to the rustic feel of your big day, and they will add an Italian touch to your venue. Enhance this by using wooden tree slices as part of your table centrepieces and fill wooden crates with your favourite flowers. Wooden frames hanging from trees outside will create a fun space for photograph opportunities – you could use some DIY skills and create homemade photo props too. This could be a fun job for you and your bridesmaids to do!

Style your reception tables with grey linen table runners and cloths. Use lots of grey linen ribbon throughout the little details too: tie around your wedding chairs or even your wedding bouquet. Olive scented candles will give your reception a lovely fragrance and how about olive scented soap for your wedding favours. Why not have an olive-flavoured wedding cake too? This unusual flavour is actually delicious, and you can guarantee your guests won’t have had it before…

An olive green and grey wedding colour palette is understated, chic and modern – with a few rustic details thrown in!

Sage Green and French Blue Wedding Colour Scheme

Choosing a wedding colour scheme that suits both your style and the season can be incredibly difficult, but we’ve discovered a gorgeous colour combination that is extremely versatile. We just love the thought of a green and blue wedding theme!

How To Pull Off A Sage Green and French Blue Wedding

A sage green and French blue wedding colour scheme can be used in any season – it works wonderfully in the Summer as a destination wedding colour scheme, but the cooler shades also look fab in the January and February months. So let’s take a look at how you can include these two delightful colours throughout your wedding details and décor…

There is always the option of donning a pale green or light blue wedding dress, but the majority of brides will choose a traditional white gown. This colour scheme is the perfect choice for wearing your ‘Something Blue’. A French blue belt tied around the waist of your gown is a beautiful way of reflecting your theme and the ‘Something Blue’ tradition. Alternatively, sew your wedding date into the inside of your gown in blue embroidery – this is becoming a very popular choice! Your groom will look absolutely fetching in a navy suit with a sage green bow-tie and handkerchief.

Blue is one of the most popular colour choice for bridesmaids but sage green is also a fab colour for your ladies, so why not mix and match? If you’ve got 4 or 5 bridesmaids, ask them which their preferable colour choice is to wear. They’ll hugely appreciate choosing a colour that suits their individual style, and your girls will still look coordinated.

Sage green and French blue is really suited to a rustic wedding theme, so try incorporating woody elements into your wedding venue décor. A long wooden banquet table will look striking with a linen blue table runner and an abundance of wild greenery and foliage – think lots of Eucalyptus, then you’ll have a lovely scent too. White candles in silver holders nestled amongst the greenery will look stunning as table centrepieces. Place a sprig of Eucalyptus or flora on a French blue napkin – they’ll look fab at your place settings. Sage green table numbers and place names will add to the colour scheme and will effortlessly dress your tables up.

Use white details throughout your big day to brighten up your theme – the contrast will look beautifully against the green and blue shades. A white iced wedding cake on a wooden cake stand adorned with leafy details adds a botanical element to your wedding. So chic!

The Wedding of my Dreams has a huge variety of green and blue items that will help add to your wedding décor. For instance, our chunky organic green vase looks fab filled with succulents or cacti. Add to your wedding tables or even your gift table for extra detail. Our blue paper pom-poms are fab choice for venue décor and they look great hanging from the ceiling or along the trees. They’re a really simply way of adding a touch of colour to your wedding venue.

We adore this minimalist colour scheme and it’s perfect for a botanical style wedding in January or February. If you did want to recreate this style in the Summer, simply opt for warmer shades of green and blue.
