How To Style A Bonfire Night Wedding

A Bonfire Night Wedding is a wonderful way to celebrate your special day with your guests. Whether you love the Autumnal time of year or bonfire night traditions, keep reading to find out how you can style a bonfire night wedding.

Toffee Apple Wedding Favours

One of the most prevalent traditions on bonfire night is of course, delicious toffee apples! You can easily incorporate these tasty delights into your bonfire night wedding. You could create a DIY Toffee Apple Bar and set up a table with bowls of toffee sauce, apples and some lollipop sticks. Alternatively, why not offer ready-made toffee apples as wedding favours? Put in each place setting with a name tag around the packaging or a cute ribbon.

Roasting Marshmallows

Marshmallows are a must-have at any bonfire night wedding. Offer as wedding favours to your guests so they can roast them later on in the evening at your very own wedding fire pit. You could also create a tempting Smores station next to the fire pit as an alternative to a dessert table. Delicious!

Fire Pit Area

A fire pit will come in very useful at a bonfire night wedding. Whether you use it for roasting marshmallows or simply to keep your guests warm in the evening, they are a fab addition to an Autumn celebration. Plus, they make for some beautiful wedding photograph opportunities.

Build A Bonfire

If you want to go bigger than a fire pit, have you ever considered having a bonfire? In keeping with the Guy Fawkes tradition, build a bonfire ready to be set alight as the wedding parties on into the night. When it comes to fire-related activities, it’s always best to double-check whether your venue can accommodate it.

Bonfire Night Wedding Games

Your bonfire night wedding needs to keep your guests entertained and it’s often when the couple have gone off to have their photographs taken that guests start to get a little bored. Make sure your friends and family are having fun by creating some indoor or outdoor games. Bobbing For Apples is a great addition, particularly for the kids. You’re guaranteed to have your guests laughing!

Finish It With Fireworks

Go one step further with your very own bonfire night fireworks! Some wedding venues provide fireworks in their package, but if not it’s always worth discussing if they will allow a firework display in the evening. It’s the perfect way to end your special day and your guests will be seriously impressed. Plus, imagine the wedding photographs!

How To Style A Milk Churn Wedding Table Centrepiece

A table centrepiece really sets the tone of your wedding reception, and helps your chosen theme tie in together. It adds personality and interest to your tables, and can be incredibly beautiful.

Fleur Couture styled this gorgeous table centrepiece using our milk churns, and it’s perfect for a rustic, country or Summer wedding. You’ll be able to see how the milk church table centrepiece can be styled with the place settings so that your tables look seriously gorgeous! This is an effortless style to recreate for your big day and it’s super easy too.

How To Create This Table Centrepiece

If opted for long tables rather than round tables, it’s best to place the milk churns down the length of the table. We recommend a table centrepiece every four place settings or so. However, you’ll be able to see what works best for your wedding venue.

Tree slices have become hugely popular as table centrepieces and it’s no wonder why. They add a subtle rustic touch to any table, without being too overwhelming. You can opt for a thin tree slice or something that’s a little thicker. Mix and match throughout your reception tables for a wonderfully natural style that looks effortless. Surround the large tree slice with tiny tree slices or something that you think fits in. The wooden holders in this styled shoot are tea branch tea light holders turned upside, but work perfectly for this purpose.

Fill your milk churn with flowers of your own choice, your florist will be able to guide you – blooms that tie into your bouquet will work beautifully if you are thinking of doing these yourself, they don’t have to be the exact same, as long as they all work together. Wild, meadow flowers look especially fab with this table centrepiece as it suits the natural, country garden style. Your florist will be able to help you out with the milk churn flower arrangements, but if you’ve not got a florist to hand friends and family can lend a hand.

Add a few sprigs of lavender or other greenery to the tree slice so that it doesn’t look too stark. You can really personalise this to your wedding day style – lavender looks great if it’s an element carried throughout your theme, for instance in the buttonholes and bouquet. A few jam jars with tea lights dotted around (and on the smaller tree slices) will complete the look, and means there will be a subtle glow for your guests. If you’re not a fan of jam jars, why not use mini glass bottles with gold rims with a sprig of greenery in?

Your place settings can easily fit in flawlessly with your table centrepiece. Napkins wrapped with brown string is perfect for a rustic look, and a sprig of lavender or foliage will add an elegant touch. This style is all about natural textures, such as wood and hessian so be sure to incorporate this into your tables.

This is such an easy table centrepiece to recreate for your special day, and it looks absolutely fab too.

How To Create This Rustic Table Plan At Your Wedding

Designing the perfect look for your rustic wedding takes more than finding the perfect wedding venue. One of the things we love most about rustic weddings is the fact it’s such an effortless yet beautiful theme. It’s perfect for those couples who want an organic, country feel to their day. It’s the little details that count, which is why this rustic plan table is made for a rustic affair!

Fleur Couture created this gorgeous rustic table plan using items from The Wedding of My Dreams shop.

What You’ll Need For Your Rustic Table Plan

How To Create Your Rustic Table Plan

This rustic table plan looks fab if you’ve got a variety of different size wooden crates. Fleur Couture placed the crates on the sides and layered them on top of one another as if to create shelving for the plant buckets and other props.

Place a couple of milk churns on top of the crates and fill with blooms for the ‘wow’ factor. Choosing flowers that match your wedding bouquet will look beautifully coordinated. Wild, natural flowers look particularly wonderful with this set-up as it simply adds another rustic element.

Use props such as a ‘LOVE’ light up sign to add a touch of ambience to your table plan. You could make it really personal by adding frames full of your favourite photographs and placing them in the shelving part of the crate. The possibilities are endless when it comes to decorating the wooden crates!

Rest the wooden table plan from The Wedding of My Dreams against the crates and fill the mini silver buckets with more pretty posies. Once you’ve done this, all you need to do is the finishing touches. Tie the brown luggage tags to the silver buckets and write down the seating arrangements so it’s clear where your guests need to sit.

This is such a simple yet effect rustic table plan and it looks beautiful in any area of your venue. Set up in the corner of your reception room so guests can easily see where they’re seating. You could even place it on a table to make it more of a ‘focal point’ of your reception room. The mixture of the wooden crates and colourful flowers will really help to create that beautiful rustic feel to your wedding venue. Keep the style throughout your wedding day and use crates or milk churns filled with blooms as your table centrepieces.
