Winter weddings are all about being warm, cosy and suitably festive. What better way to decorate your wedding venue than with a Winter drinks station?

Drinks Stations For Winter Weddings

This latest (and possibly tastiest) trend has taken the wedding world by storm and it seems that couples are loving these yummy treats. Summer saw the introduction of homemade lemonade dispensers and fruity cocktail bars. However, we’re looking at drink stations that are just perfect for your Winter celebration. Hot Cocoa Station

DIY hot cocoa stations are a wonderful addition for Winter weddings. Display mason jars brimming with mini marshmallows and hot chocolate powder on a table. You could use a chest of drawers or a bookcase to serve your hot chocolate drinks. Include shots of caramel, vanilla and white chocolate sauce for a truly tasty experience. Your guests will love this idea, especially when it gets chilly in the cold Winter evenings. drinks stations at winter weddings stonewoodvintage-com-catmayerstudio-com Image Source - Photographer

Mulled Wine

Mulled wine is a must-have at any festive wedding. A drink station dedicated to serving mulled wine will look fabulous decorated with fir wreaths, pine cones and cinnamon sticks wrapped with ribbon. You could fill drink dispensers with hot mulled wine so that guests can serve themselves, but it might be asking a member of staff to check it's all working okay during the reception. drinks stations at winter weddings bridalmusings-com-donalskehan-com Image Source - Photographer

Time For A Brew

Sometimes all you need on a cold Winter’s night is a cup of tea or coffee – and your guests will definitely appreciate it! It’s often at the end of the evening that people start craving a cuppa, but it’s easy to incorporate it into your big day while still looking chic. Hang a mixture of vintage cups on a wooden pallet or wooden shelves. Provide jars of teabags and coffee, along with jugs of milk and boiling water. Include a few mason jars full of biscuits and festive delights to go with the drinks. drinks stations at winter weddings ruffledblog-com-sbethphoto-com Image Source - Photographer

Christmas Cocktails

Winter weddings are never complete without a few Christmas-inspired cocktails. Create a cute cocktail station that your guests can help themselves to. It’s best to choose two signature drinks: the bride’s favourite cocktail and the groom’s favourite cocktail. This is a very classy way of making sure your guests stay hydrated while feeling festive. Snowballs, Eggnog and mulled cider are very delicious additions. drinks stations at winter weddings onefabday-com-brosnanphotographic-com Image Source - Photographer shop-now

Take A Treat – Wedding Dessert Table

As you will probably know Gemma write for Save The Date Magazine, this issue her article was about how to create a wedding dessert table. Read the magazine online here. save the data magazine take a treat - wedding dessert tables Do you and your other half LOVE cakes and sweet treats? If the answer to that question is yes then having a dessert table or sweet station at your wedding might be just up your street. Dessert tables are eye catching, economical and can fit in with any colour scheme or theme you have chosen for your wedding. You can either enlist the help of an expert or create your dessert table or sweet station yourself.

How many sweets will I need?

If you are going to create a dessert table yourself this article will be a useful source of inspiration. To start with you will need to work out how many sweets to buy, this will depend on the number of guests you are having. The event industry standard is approximately ½ pound (or 8 ounces) per person, some may take more and others may take less but this is a good guide for the least amount of sweets you need.

What sort of cake plates or glass candy jars should I use?

Next you will need to decide what types of containers you are going to display your sweets, desserts and cakes in. This will depend on the types of desserts you choose and your overall wedding style. Some desserts such as doughnuts and cakes look better on cake plates or in trays whereas marshmallows and smaller sweets suit glass jars. Depending on your style you could choose glass candy jars, rustic tree slices, vintage crockery, the list is endless and cakes and sweets can always be decorated with little flags if you wish. For a styled look keep all the desserts to a set colour palette, you can choose different shades or different colours but keeping to a set palette will look stunning.

 Drinks station instead?

If you are not so keen on the idea of desserts or want something similar for guests to help themselves from earlier in the day a drinks station might be more appropriate. Set up large drinks dispensers filled with signature cocktails and let guests help themselves.
