Garden Games Wedding – Outdoor Drinks Reception Ideas
A rustic elegant outdoor drinks reception (Tuscany Style) Garden Games Wedding
It’s me, Gemma again. Today’s post is looking at my outdoor drinks reception, or aperitivo (one of the best Italian traditions) drinks and a light meal warming up to dinner. We had allocated 2 hours for the aperitivos as this would be the main time our guests could relax and mingle before dinner, dinner wasn’t scheduled until later once the sun had gone down to keep guests comfortable. Our caterers were fantastic and there was plenty of food and drinks to go around for the full 2 hours, we had a saxophonist playing in the background and guests relaxed and chatted in the various areas we had created for them. Our venue was a blank canvas so we created seating areas under dappled shaded areas, there were sun loungers for those who wanted to sit in the sun and we also created a chill out area under a gazebo (which was a bargain from Ikea) decorated it with foliage garlands and filled with cushions, throws, tables and benches, this was out guest book signing table too.
I wanted to include some garden games at this part of the wedding, as something fun for the guests to do. In one of the shaded areas we set out Jenga sets on various tables. On the grass we set out a tin can toss game and hoopla to hoop Italian beer bottles. Scroll down to see more photos and bit and pieces you can buy to have these garden games at your wedding.
